In today’s modern world music has become and integral part of our everyday life. While some people believe that music
can be exclusive to certain cultures and age brackets, I, however, feel that music is a universal language that could touch
varying nations and ages.
First, music is considered a universal language that could be understood by all. Throughout the fabric of time, music has been
used as a form of self expxression for both individuals and communities combined. While some people claim that the barrier of
language will prevent some songs from being relatable to some communities, I would argue that music isn’t solely composed of
words; it’s made up of feelings and tunes that could only be felt regardless of the language itself. For example, an ode about
freedom and victory recited in Spanish like the song bella ciao was globally adored by English and Arabic nations’ even thought
they couldn’t fully understand the whole lyrics but the feelings of the tempo and the tone of the singer himself clearly delivered
the message.
Another evidence is music festivals that act as a magnet that brings people from different backgrounds together. Whenever a festival is being
held, housing multiple musical backgrounds, people from different parts of the world are brought together with the love and
celebration of it. Festivals act as an attraction point for various visitors and tourists as a way for them to experience and understand the city’s
culture and traditions. While i concede that different age brackets might not relate to modern day music or vice versa, the thing about
music, as previously mentioned, is that it is a form of expression and whether a person of a certain age will relate to it or not, they will
definitely appreciate the act of expression itself.
To sum up, the fact that music is a universal non-spoken language that overcomes the obstacles of different languages
and the festivals that celebrate it attract people from different backgounds and generations I wholeheartedly believe that music is an
excellent form of bringing people of various backgrounds together.
