Nowadays, playing sports has emerged as a profession. A school of thought believes that participating in games can help in the growth of youngsters, whilst others oppose this notion. This essay will shed light on the reasons behind both perceptions, along with my perspective in favour of the former statement.
To begin with, playing games have multiple benefits for children. Firstly, it can make them physically as well as mentally strong . To be more specific, taking part in different sports activities can keep young ones in a good shape and energetic. Additionally, they can develop various skills such as decision making, being patient, teamwork, and coping up with stress which builds a strong mindset . To exemplify, a child who plays sports will not only have a good physique but will also be able to respect others, accept and tackle difficult situation in the future.
On the other hand, the opponents deem that, playing sports can result in a lack of leisure time for children , because they have to spend most of their free time in practicing sports, hence they will not have enough time for their loved ones . Moreover, in some cases sports can cause severe injuries, which can have a long-term effect on a child’s physical and emotional well-being. For instance, a popular sport known as Ice Hockey has resulted in many injuries in the past years like concussions, fractures, torn ligaments, and dislocation of bones, which has left many young people in trauma. Therefore, many guardians do not encourage children to participate in physical games.
To recapitulate, although there are a few risks of getting injured while playing sports, the advantages of it holds more water . I strongly believe that children will learn to make better decisions in their lives, build collaboration skills and confidence by participating in sports, which will positively influence their future growth.
