Studying has always been of great importance among society, problems relating to this are also a topic of interest .One school of thought assumes that school should give precedence to academic subjects that are relevant to student’s future occupation while others believe that non-academic subjects such as sport or art should not be neglected. This essay attempts to shed light on both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.
On the one hand, learning important subjects can benefit student in several ways.First and foremost, main subjects provide student with a profound knowledge needed for their career pursuits. Therefore, teaching core subjects such as math, literature or science could be helpful when students enter the competitive job market ,because recruiters need skillful employees in these fields. In addition to this, students who have good academic performance are likely to land a well-paid job and be financially viable.
On the other hand, the inclusion of subjects relevant to the overall well being and art have positive impacts on students.Teaching these subjects give students who are endowed with art an opportunity to enrich their knowledge and hone their skills at schools. Moreover, not many students are excel in compulsory subjects but having an aptitude for exceptional abilities in different areas,so as long as their talents are being nurtured, individuals can reach their full potential in their chosen fields which lead to opportunities of recognition and success in the future.
In conclusion,as aforementioned benefits of both subjects,i believe that schools should not solely prioritize academic subjects at the expense of non-academic ones.Instead, educators should strike a balance in incorporating a variety of subjects suitable for diverse strengths and interest of students, thereby prepare them a both future career and personal fulfilments.
