Many people argue that most effective approach to master a new language is for individuals to visit the country where it is spoken and interact with the locals. Others, however, believe that this is not the sole method, as individuals can also learn a language by accessing reading materials, for example. In my opinion, I firmly agree with the latter statement, but I also believe that individuals would improve their language skills more rapidly if they had the opportunity to visit the country.
On one hand, moving to a foreign country encourages individuals to communicate more effectively with the locals. By using informal phrases that are commonly spoken, they can develop a better feel for the new language and also improve their pronunciation. For instance, when tourists visit a new country, they learn much more quickly because they are exposed daily to the culture and the local way of life.
On the other hand, learning a language through structured education can also be beneficial, as it provides a solid foundation for continued improvement. People who cannot afford to travel or work in other countries can take advantage of local courses available in their hometowns. For example, many universities offer language programs at various levels, from beginner to advanced, enabling individuals to choose the most suitable course for their needs.
In conclusion, while some believe that mastering a language can only be achieved by visiting or working in the country, I believe that people can also attain fluency if they have access to educational resources with relevant materials.
