Band 4+: Some people say that travel helps us to appreciate other culture. How trus is this statement? Do you think that people who travel a lot appreciate other cultures more than those who stay at home?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many people assume if travel can help appreciate other cultures. In my opinion I strongly agree with this statement because travelling to other places can increase our knowledge than staying at home.

Firstly, by travelling around the world we can meet many people, and we can discovered new culture of the country that we visit. We can buy some souvenirs of their culture, example if we go China we can buy local handfan that we cannot find in Indonesia, which we can appreciate their culture. Also their appereance, Indonesian has wavy hair, black hair, tan skin. But in China their appereance are 180 degree from Indonesian. Chinese people are identically with white skin, straight hair, thin, and tall.

Furthermore, we can discovered their local traditions, for example ceremony of their country, sometimes we can feel weird about their ceremony, but its very common for them. Example in Fiji, in Fiji males using skirts for their ceremony.

Thirdly, Of course in other countries we might find their strange food with weird price, taste, flavour, texture, size, etc. Example china, In china they eat bats, dogs, cats, octopus, etc. Its very common for Chinese people, but not for tourists.

In conclusion. Travelling around the world can appreciate their cultures, people, food, traditions, etc. So people need spend money for exploring others country. That’s why I totally agree to travel around the world to gain many benefits.

It’s argued that travelling benefits us in understanding other nations and backgrounds.
