Education is responsible for providing information and skills to our children, and so governments must ensure they invest wisely in schools. Some argue that more money should be spent on improving classrooms with new equipment and technology, while others believe it is better to allocate this money for teachers’ salaries. In this essay, I will explore both views and explain why I believe investing in teachers is a better option.
Proponents of investing in technology and equipment argue that this will make the classroom a more enjoyable and modern environment. They suggest that children perform better in spaces where they feel relaxed and happy, and that modern technology, like iPads and interactive whiteboards, can make learning more engaging. Additionally, new technology can aid teachers; instead of trying to capture their students’ attention with only an outdated blackboard, they can use modern tools to show educational videos and other engaging content.
Those who believe that more money should be allocated to teachers argue that teachers work very long hours and are not paid enough. Teachers not only work at school but also spend a significant amount of time preparing for classes and grading assignments. Supporters of this view say it is only fair to compensate teachers better for their hard work. Furthermore, they argue that increasing teachers’ salaries will motivate them to perform their jobs more effectively, ultimately benefiting student learning outcomes.
In conclusion, while investing in technology and equipment can make learning more enjoyable and assist teachers, increasing teachers’ salaries may be a better way to reward them for their dedication and to incentivize better performance. In my opinion, more funds should be allocated to teachers, as I believe the personal relationship between teachers and students is the most critical factor in the learning process.
