With the fast development of technology, the process of acquiring education is also constantly evolving. As more and more educational literature appears on the Internet, there is an opinion that colleges do not need any libraries anymore. Nevertheless, there are those who consider college libraries still very useful in education.
Proponents of digital resources state that such sources have numerous advantages. The first is convenience since a student can find any required information, such as books or articles using a personal computer or even smartphone. What is more, Internet sources are constantly being updated thus providing users with up-to-date data. Also, the use of digital resources allows one to save time and paper.
Still, libraries can give students many other advantages. For example, they offer a quiet and well-organized environment which stimulates concentrated work. Moreover, there are books, archival materials, and other information resources that cannot be found in the Internet for free. Besides, librarians help in finding reliable information sources.
Thus, I consider that digital sources can supplement college libraries but cannot replace them.
