It is true that, some humans think that giving longer prison sentence the true way to reducing crimes. While other people tend toward is there are better ways reducing crime. I agree with the viewpoint is that there are many other way to decreasing it.
On the one hand there are clear arguments with giving long-prison sentence is the best way decreasing crimes. One of the main reason can be that criminals are locked away and society is effectively protected. This means that dangerous criminals such as murders, theifs and terrorists. They will be far away from society and they are not damaging others. Another reason can be that a lenghty punishment illustrates that the crime is wrong. After lentghty punishment some criminal will not happen crime.
On the other hand, I agree with the viewpoint is that finding better way for reducing crimes. Firstly, I believe that true way to decreasing crime is through preventive measures. This can be achieved by implementing programs that focus on education, emplyment, ensuring social justice and crime prevention. Long term prison sentences may not always be effective in lowering crime rates. Secondly, I feel that youth engagement providing safe recrational activities, mentorring and educatoinal support for teenagers can divert them from crime-prone environment.
In conlusion,although, criminals locked away and society is effectively protected and lenthghty punishment illustrates that the crime is wrong, however, I believe that working with young generation and preventive measures.
