University degree, skills and experience have a crucial role in today’s era. The above mentioned question sheds light on the believes of two segments of people where one segment gives priviledge to the University degree, while the others have a strong support towards skill & experience which according to them is crucial.
To commence with like every coin has two sides. Similarly we can infer both pros and cons from the given believes. As we all know that university degree is the part of formal education. Throughout the formal education every individual gets the chance to acquire new learnings and knowledge through various factual concepts and databases that are authentic and reliable. University degrees establishes and validates the deeper insight of the subject. It provides proper documentation to show the sanguinity & genuineness of the subject knowledge. Further we can say that university degree is the standardized globally acceptable. But we all know that every positive outcome comes with few drawbacks. So university degree is more focussed on tgeoretical parts. Also we cannot forget that university degree is a time consuming and expensive process. Getting Masters in Business administration from IIM shows authenticity, in-depth knowledge but requires huge expense & time devotion. On the contrary, skills & experiences are as per current market demand. It provides hands- on experience to the real issues. But it cannot be denied that different company demands different set of skills and experience for same profile & not globally accepted.
So, in my opinion, I believe combination of right degree with the appropriate set of skills and experiences are more valuable than the individual degree and specific skills. Both togetherly can have profound impact on the careers of an individual in long run.
