One of the widely discussed issues today is whether a university qualification is necessary for well-paid job or whether relying only on personal abilities is more important. This essay will discuss both viewpoints and explain why I agree with latter opinion.
On the one hand, many people rely on information about well-known universities,because that institutions have a long-standing academic reputation. For example, famous Oxford and Harvard are often seen as guarantees of high-quality education. They have proven their academic excellence and offer valuable practical experiences. However,sometimes these universities influence potential students from strong marketing strategies. For instance,many applicants in Kazakhstan decided to stay here instead of choosing studying abroad. Later some of them regret their choice, because they believed to advertisements on social media and websites about that university. However,in reality it turned out to be disgusting place for preparing future job.
On the other hand, second category of people have opinion that believing on their experiences and qualities more essential than academic knowledge. Some of them usually have started their job immediately after graduation and without any theory. They can choose to stay at places where nobody requires diploma from university. For instance, a lot of them just finished particular courses which related to their current job and usually lasts around few months. After that,they have got the certificate and can start working with confidence. That kind of people convinced that If they were a student, university would take their time without any upsides.
In conclusion, although a degree is essential, I am firmly believe that skills and real life-experience are more valuable in modern job market.
