At the present time, there is pluralism in the world’s legal systems. There is a certain number of people who support an idea of the single law system for the whole world. At the same time there is an opposite opinion which maintain diversity in the jurisprudence. Personally, I support the second point of view, due to the facts that unified legislation exterminates the culture and decrease business possibilities.
On the one hand, the merger of statutes will simplify the travelling and facilitate the world’s trade. Firstly, if the law was the same everywhere, the tourists would not need to examine rules of the countries of the destinations. Secondly, unified norms for entrepreneurs will help to avoid misunderstandings and decrease bureaucratic barriers between counter agents.
On the other hand, the single legislation will limit humanity of culture and limit flexibility of companies. To begin with, the single law will deprive the legislative authority from many social groups. Society will not be able to create and develop their rules and traditions without their own legislation, in the light of this fact the culture will fade away. Moreover, the firms will lose their opportunities to choose the jurisdiction which is more appropriate for their interests.
To sum up, the proponents of law harmonization support the idea that unified norms for the whole world will make travelling and international transactions much easier. The opponents of the single jurisprudence claim that it will destroy the human’s culture and limit business opportunities. Personally, I agree with the second point of view due to the fact that diversity of traditions is important.
