Museums and galleries are playing an important role in acquiring cultural heritage. Nowadays there is a controversial opinion stating that only pieces of art and history reflecting nationality should be in museums. I completely beg to differ on this matter because this phenomena will negatively affect the cultural exchange and perception of history.
Showing a big variety of international pieces of art and historical artefacts in museums has a big impact to cultural exchange and assists in understanding other countries history and develop the sense of tolerance.Demonstration of only traditional style of art will close the cultural exchange between countries by using only pieces of art in one style, which will lead to decreasing the variety of art pieces since the countries will rely on only one style without being allowed to widen the horizon on other’s expense.For instance, local art galleries in Kazakhstan will show only kazakh cultural elements since external sources will be considered as violation of author right/ plagiarism.Thus, it will restrict further development of art in country.
Certain types of art and historical objects have complex origins,which also complicates history of this art and become inseparable part of it,because of the trade,colonization and exploration Throughout history,trades,migration had influenced to the exchange of pieces of art between different nations.Furthermore,colonization and trade often lead to the cultural blending,where one nations art and historical objects blended with others creating something unique and becoming inseparable of the history of these two nations.For instance, African sculptures brought to Europe often inspired modernist like Picasso,demonstrating how colonial interactions shaped the artistic revolution. Thus, refusing from international prices of art and historical objects will make the history of certain country more simple and limited.
In conclusion pieces of art and historical objects are outside of national boundaries, because they include general history itself and variety of cultural features. By displaying them in international museums we promote international exchange and learn complex origins of these works
