People have various views whether the juvenile should be taught to be competitive or co-operative. I personally believe that toddlers must be taught to develop the sense of competition in order to cope in this world of competition.
On the one hand, always having the sense of competition in children may have negative effect in their mental health when they do not get what they desire. Also, having competitive attitude sometimes may invite hatred and may unknowingly create enemies. Therefore, Children should be taught to cooperate because it is one the vital element children must learn. Similarly, cooperative behavior also helps to make stable and healthy relationship. For instance, in a relationship when both the partners are understanding and can cooperate for each other they will surely have the happy and strong bond.
On the other hand, with increasing population there will be limited number of resources remain in the nature so in order to survive in the competitive world children must be taught to be competitive. Not having the sense of competition may put them behind from others and there may not be any infrastructures, resources and facilities remained for them. Likewise, Competitive children are seemed to be more successful do well in their life than the one who are not competitive. For example, If the children have a sense of competition, he/she will fight for it with never giving up attitude for their dream. Therefore, developing a sense of competition in children in their early age is necessary.
In conclusion, although cooperation may make a child a useful person in the future, I personally think that having a sense of competition is necessary for any children to flourish and achieve their dreams and goals.
