Many people believe encouraging the young generation to develop their competitiveness is crucial. While some believe that this will be useful for their future, some argue that cooperation is more beneficial to be taught to children. I believe that both of these senses, competitiveness and cooperation, should be implemented in balance for kids.
The sense of competition is good for the youth because it teaches them to give their best effort to achieve something while also learning from others. If competitiveness is used positively, it can make them more resilient among many competitive conditions in adulthood. On the contrary, when this sense is misused, it can lead the children to undergo everything to make them win in the competition and can not endure failure. For example, kids in the school’s football team can learn about competition in fairness from the match. They must be taught not to win but to become supportive in competition.
Cooperation is an important thing to learn from an early age to teach them how to work with other people. This could prevent them from individualism, making them stress out to solve problems by themselves. For instance, when they get school tasks that have to be done in teamwork, they can cooperate with their peers in the same aim to do their best on the project together. This learning can make them more reliable in their future career.
Taking everything into consideration, I would say that the sense of competition and cooperation should be taught to the young people for the implementation in balance. These traits will make them more ready for their adulthood.
