There is an ongoing debate over whether activities during leisure time should be planned. Planning can be beneficial for people, as they can be more organized and stay motivated. This essay will elaborate both views and include a relevant example.
Those who support that scheduling some activities during free time is crucial think that it contributes to their sense of willingness. In other words, they can stay motivated. This is because planning gives them a sense of obviousness. For example, people who commit to go to gym regularly may undergo that way because they already know what to do. As a result, it allows them to keep motivated. In addition to this, it also helps them not to lose track of hours. By knowing what activities are worth doing next, it also allows them to maximize use of time. Therefore, they may not miss what is important for them.
In contrast, other opponents argue that it is not necessary to schedule their activities during leisure time. This is because planning creates pressure to people. Those who already know activities they would like to commit may have measured how stressful they can be and may give up before even trying it. Moreover, it also creates laziness, since they need to check up their to-do-list simultaneously. For instance, after checking up our lists, people lose their interests because they tend to take a break for a while during checking up time. However, I am of the opinion that without having lists, some may very easy get out of track and end up taking a rest instead.
In conclusion, despite its consequences of planning activities, I believe that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. Therefore, it is way more beneficial to have plan before doing activities.
