Charity organizations exist to help people who are in need. Some people argue that these organizations should only focus on helping people from their own country, while others think they should help anyone who is suffering, no matter where they live. In this essay, I will discuss both sides and give my own opinion.
Those who support helping people in the same country often believe that local problems should come first. For example, if a country has poor people, homeless people, or people who need food and medicine, it makes sense to help them before sending aid overseas. Also, charities in a country are usually funded by local citizens, so people may expect their donations to be used for helping their own society first.
On the other hand, some believe that people in extreme need should be helped no matter their nationality. Disasters like earthquakes, wars, and famines can create serious situations where international help is necessary. Charities that help globally can save many lives and show the value of kindness and support among countries. In addition, some countries may not have their own charities or governments that can help their people, so international organizations play an important role.
In my opinion, I believe charity work should focus on people’s needs, not their location. While it is important to support local communities, I think that when there is a serious crisis in another country, it is right to help those people too. Everyone deserves help when they are in danger or suffering.
In conclusion, both local and international charity work is important. While some believe that helping people in one’s own country should come first, others think that anyone in need deserves support. I believe that charities should aim to reduce suffering wherever it happens.
