In recent years, there has been a widely discussed idea among some people that art should be taught in schools for students’ development. Conversely, others believe that teaching art in schools is a waste of resources.
Firstly, art significantly impacts essential skills such as communication and problem-solving. It helps foster these skills during the formative years of youth. For instance, when students participate in a play or sing a song, they have the opportunity to explore various methods of communication.
On the other hand, there are negative opinions regarding the teaching of art. Some individuals argue that subjects like science and math are more critical for a student’s future. They believe that time spent on art is not as important as learning scientific concepts. These subjects play a crucial role in developing both the practical and intellectual abilities of students, which are important for their careers.
From my perspective, neglecting art education would be a shortsighted approach. Art can provide a safe haven for students who are under academic pressure. The academic environment can often be very stressful, and incorporating art can offer a valuable opportunity for relaxation and creative expression.
