Whilst majority believe that assessments are an effective way to test individuals level. Others may argue that they are the cause of needless stress on the youth and do not indicate a lot about their actual strengths. I believe that examinations are necessary so students could learn back from the mistakes they have made in the test and learn from them.
On one hand, students can learn from taking exams by taking in their flaws. For example, if in a practice assessment you answer incorrectly on one of the questions, on the actual exam you will make sure to avoid to make a similar mistake. This will help students to train the minds with having the skill to find their information gaps within a topic and decrease the chance of failure in future. As a result, students will gain more confidence as they had enough practice with completing past papers and will feel less anxious in future with stressful situations.
On the other hand, some may argue that exams can cause inequality within the class as everyone has different abilities. As a consequence, youthful could feel like they are unable to achieve same knowledge and marks as their classmates. Following this, children can develop mental issues such as anxiety and depression due to feeling of being left out. Depression is the reason for students to experience mood swings and being demotivated with improvements in their education.
In a nut shell, even though assessments can help students with indicating their errors in studies, it can also lead to negative effects in their health such as depression and increased anxiety.
