Some individuals claim that providing support for all kinds of artists should be done by the government; others advocate that this action is flawed. In this essay, I would provide two perspectives and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, there are some benefits that assisting artists can make for both individuals and countries. First and foremost, it is undeniable that investing in artists may become the best way to preserve traditional cultural value in each region. Globalization nowadays has threatened the cultural value, expressed through almost all youngsters tending to focus on foreign culture like K-POP, and they do not really enjoy their national customs. As a result, artists may become a key rationale for conserving their unique value after disappearing by globalization. Secondly, artists can enhance tourists’ industry by showing some long-standing traditional values. Therefore, foreigners may be curious about their historical values and explore by travelling to this country. This will make their country become a popular attraction and enhance their financial health by overseas currency.
On the other hand, there are some reasons why supporting all fields of artists may waste national budget. Nowadays, urbanization has become a trend in developing countries, making the demand for healthcare and education more essential than ever. Spending national funding on new fields may affect another and inhibit the development of crucial needs. As a result, residential lifestyle will be more difficult, and this may limit the ability for citizens to approach necessary facilities.
In conclusion, while some believe that government support for artists is a waste of money, I think it is essential for preserving culture, boosting the economy, and enhancing society’s well-being. By supporting creative artists, governments are making an investment that benefits society both now and in the future.
