It is believed that all types of artists should be provided finacial support, others think that it is not essential. I would argue that it is better to support them.
On the one hand, there are numerous reasons explain why the government should provide support for artists. It is true that being an artist is highly challenging given that a majority of them would not produce works that can have commercial value. For instance, many well-known painters, despite the vast number of masterpieces they had created, have their works highly valued after their passing. As a result, supporting artists is the only way to keep people engaging in this career path, which can help maintain the cultural uniqueness of a nation.
On the other hand, investing in art is highly wasteful due to some reasons. In fact, nowadays, education and healthcare are the key factors, which boost the prosperity of developing nation. Furthermore, art just suitable for people who are satisfy with their basic demands, as they can start enjoying and experiences arts in an appropriate manner. But until now, there are few number of people find interested in arts. So the government need to pay more attention on other factors such as healthcare and education, instead of spending government’s budget on art.
In conclusion, although there are mixed views about supporting or not, I believe that arts play a paramount important in human life. And supporting artist also a good things as they help deepen the cultural value of the country, enrich the cultural of their own nations.
