It is believed that the movement of large companies and industry to rural areas would be beneficial. Although the drawbacks of this trend are undeniable they are outweighed by its benefits.
To begin with, moving large companies to rural areas may lead to price increases. Moving to regional areas is not obviously straightforward for large companies and industries, it demands a lot of effort and extra funding from companies resulting in rising prices to cover the expenses, because they have to create their own bases in regional areas where they want to move. For example, Artel that is the most famous manufacturer of household appliances in Uzbekistan moved outside areas and the prices of its products significantly increased. Besides that, workplace reduction in cities can be caused by this trend as the majority of people live in urban centres. If major companies move to rural areas their main manufacturing zones which provide people with job will be also moved. This is why most employees who are not able to leave their cities will become jobless consequently.
However, there are several significant advantages to move large companies to regional areas. First of all, the quality of air will be improved if there are not large industrial factories in urban areas. It is not a secret that the most of air pollution in major cities are the result of greenhouse gas emissions from the factories. Moving of those factories to rural areas might reduce the quantity of emissions in those cities. Secondly, the amount of traffic on the roads will also be reduced providing those factories and industrial zones are moved outside cities. Because cargo vehicles constitute much part of the traffic on the roads and cause frequent traffic jams. Although the amount of traffic jams is high on the city roads prevention of it is possible due to the movement of industries and factories to regional areas. Finally, recreational facilities can be created in place of large companies. This, in turn, helps people spend their time with their families and friends outside their work which is important to keep work and life balance. These positive sides can be enough to outweigh the negative sides.
In conclusion, despite the availability of some demerits of moving large companies and industry to rural areas, it can be, based on the arguments mentioned above, safely said that the merits of it definitely surpass them.
