It is sometimes argued that parents play a more vital role than the outside influence on the development of children. While it is undeniable that parents are the first teachers, who accompany children most of the time, I firmly believe that the impact made by society is more beneficial.
There are several reasons why parents have weaker effects. Firstly, they only can teach their children with limited knowledge due to their own learning experiences. Secondly, children will lack communication skills, resulting in having trouble working with others and being afraid of communicating with different individuals. Thirdly, it can be hard to cultivate team-working spirits only by parents since there is a single teaching method, face-to-face classes.
Regarding why society has more benefits. There are various learning materials presented for children, helping them to choose what they prefer and discover personal interests and abilities. Additionally, exposed to the world, children will gain multifaceted experiences, both positive and negative, which encourages them to be brave when facing failures. Take my friend Lucy as an example, after numerous losses in the swimming competition, She practiced harder, leading to the first prize in the national competition. Furthermore, it is crucial to learn how to work well with different people in social life which lays a solid foundation for future development.
In conclusion, while parents can shape children’s identities, my view is that society can bring more knowledge and information to children, fostering their abilities and offering more opportunities to discover both themselves and the world.
