Educating children on moral values is very vital.In as much as some people think children should be taught how to be good members of the society by parents ,others believe that the best place to learn this is in the schools.In my opinion moral values should be instilled from home and so parents should teach children how to be good members of the society.
I tend to believe that children’s moral values should be instilled as they grow right from home.This is because home is the first environment of exposure to them and the way they are brought up greatly influences their personality.Parents should be strict in terms of displine and discourage bad morals in children as early as possible.In addition ,they should be good examples to them owing to the fact that children tend to emulate behaviors of those around them.
On the other hand,schools are learning centres and good moral values should be part of the learning.In as much as children go to school to gain knowledge which will contribute to their career pathway in the future,strict displine measures should highly be initiated by the teachers.Schools need to produce all round students who are equally displined in order to be successful in their careers.A research conducted in a certain highschool in Northeastern Kenya indicated that good morals led to success in career.Hence it is very vital for teachers to instil good morals to students in order for them to be good members of the society.
To sum up,both parents and schools play an important role in the lives of children.Personally,I agree more with the fact that children should be taught to be good members of the society as early as possible by parents before they even join school.
