Some people believe that school is the right place for children to learn how to be good members of society, while others think that parents should teach this. Schools can achieve this by conducting activities and creating awareness through training, whereas parents can teach this through real-time examples and children might feel more comfortable asking their parents questions than their teachers. Therefore, I believe that learning how to be good members of society through parents is more effective. This essay illustrates both views and provides examples to support my opinion.
Firstly, schools can teach students how to be good members of society in various ways, such as conducting activities and providing training. This can be achieved by rewarding a particular student at the end of the week who strictly follows the rules and regulations. For example, many schools in the southern part of India follow this method and have produced notable results. Every weekend, they conduct training sessions and offer different gifts to the children who demonstrate good behavior.
Secondly, parents can teach their children how to be good members of society through many real-life examples. Generally, parents spend significant time with their children and can explain the difference between good and bad behaviors. For instance, my cousin always teaches his son how to behave well by using the behavior of those around them as examples during trips, leading to practical and effective learning.
In conclusion, although schools can teach good qualities to children by providing training and conducting activities, the personal relationship with parents allows children to ask their questions freely and learn more effectively. Therefore, I prioritize learning how to be good members of society through parents over learning through teachers.
