Nowadays, the topic of upbringing is becoming more and more popular, especially on social media. Some people believe that teachers should teach children how to behave well in society, while others think that this is the responsibility of parents. In my opinion, both sides play an important role in helping children become good members of society.
Firstly, our behaviour starts to form at an early age, when we are still babies. At this stage, children learn by watching their parents. For example, if parents are kind, respectful, and responsible, children usually copy these behaviours. They learn simple but important things like saying “please” and “thank you,” helping others, and showing respect to older people. So, parents are the first teachers in a child’s life and give the basic understanding of what is right and wrong.
Secondly, children continue to develop their social skills at school. They spend a lot of time with classmates and teachers, so they learn how to work in a team, follow rules, and solve conflicts. For instance, during group projects or sports, students understand how to cooperate and be fair. Also, teachers can organize activities that teach values like honesty, responsibility, and tolerance. This helps students understand their role in the community.
Finally, teenagers begin to form their own opinions and worldview in high school. They gain experience from books, the internet, communication with friends, and real-life situations. For example, when a student volunteers or helps others in need, they start to feel responsible and useful. These experiences help them understand how they want to act in society and what kind of person they want to become.
In conclusion, I believe that every stage of life is important in teaching children how to be good members of society. Parents give the first example, school helps to improve social skills, and personal experience helps to build a strong character. All these parts are connected, and together they help to create a kind, respectful, and responsible person.
