It is argued by some people that physical strength is a crucial factor for success in sports while others believe it is mental strength. However, my opinion is that there should be a balanced physical and mental capability to achieve distinction in any game.
Firstly, it is reasonable that activities like boxing, running, the long jump, and many others, require physical strength over mental strength. For instance, in MMA fights and boxing a person a high psychological stamina can not withstand a minute in a fight because for these sports physical power is more valuable.
On the other hand, from preparation to participation in any athletic activity mental power is a necessity. For instance, sportsmen cannot give their best until the person is mentally trained. Moreover, to maintain consistency in sports, the person should be motivated and encouraged to stand out in the fall of their career which would not be possible without both. For example, there are some athletes in the world such as Virat Kholi and Cristino Renaldo, who have maintained a position as the best player in their field.
To sum up, I think that in sports physical ability can not be replaced with mental power, but collaborative efforts find it easy to achieve a victory in sports. Furthermore, only mental power would be insufficient in sports like heavy weight lifting. Meanwhile, without mental power, it is impossible to keep going for success.
