This essay aims to evaluate both notions prior to concluding that it would be better if both groups share the responsibility in this facet.
On the one hand, the government’s subsidy assists individuals with approaching healthcare aspects easier. In fact, the current society divides into various sorts of socio-economic backgrounds, thereby some parts of which are unable to afford these services. Owing to the fact that healthcare services charge a huge amount of financial allocation, hindering the lower class to experience these due to lack of finance. In this way, parts of citizens’ well-being will be deteriorated by limiting inspection, thereby degradation of health status in the community is increasingly prevalent, leading to a profound impact on the national economy as the poor constitute a core part of the workforce. For instance, workers are seriously injured due to hurdles appearing in their workplace, yet they are unable to pay the prohibitively expensive bill of treatments, thus accelerating the death rate and losing the workforce of the nation in view of working accidents without the government’s assistance.
On the other hand, patients should bear responsibility for their health status as they directly suffer from health problems encountered. To clarify, individuals own their health, thereby it is explicit that they necessitate taking care of theirs rather than relying on other supportive sources. For this reason, they should prioritize allocating monetary sources for healthcare to ensure their well-being, which contributes to better treatment strategies in case of detecting diseases. By delaying diagnosis of certain conditions, it is challenging for doctors to make an appropriate prescription and diagnosis. Cancer is taken as a prime example, if cancer cells metastasize widely throughout the body, there are few opportunities to prolong our lives. Therefore, individuals should have a sense of responsibility for their health status instead of depending entirely upon external help.
