It is undeniable that during recent decades, libraries are losing their importance due to technology advancement and online websites have become the main source for people to get information. It is argued that either it is unnecessary to have a library nowadays or it still plays a vital role in society. From my point of view, local libraries are still the best way for gaining information.
First and foremost, not everyone has the access to the internet today, although they are considered as minority of the society. For instance, most of elders are not familiar with the latest technologies such as computers or mobile phones. So, traditional libraries are the only way for them in order to obtain information. Moreover, people will be able to borrow books they want without caring about their prices. As a result, libraries enable people to read their favorite books, no matter how much money they have.
Furthermore, not only is the library a place for gaining knowledge, but it will give you a peaceful ambience where you can concentrate on what you are doing. In other words, it is considered as one of the best places either for youngsters to study their school lessons or for local people to work on their projects since it will be provided a quiet area for students.
To sum up, although technology has simplified our life by surfing on the internet in order to find books or articles that we want, I advocate that the local libraries are still necessary in our life for all generations as well being a suitable place for study.
