Some individuals believe that social media affects kids badly. I strongly agree with this statement as social media harms the mental health of young people, and it can affect communication skills.
Social media negatively affects teenagers’ mental well-being. There are a lot of bullies in apps that can lower teenagers’ self-esteem. These types of apps apply pressure and a variety of negative aspects. For instance, the problem of cyberbullying has developed sharply, and there is nothing kids can do about it. The self-esteem of young people goes down, and then it switches to anxiety in their minds.
Excessive use of media apps reduces face-to-face interaction. Some teenagers are dependent on text buttons, not on real conversations; this can lead to a lack of social skills. Nowadays, teenagers are spending too much time on their phones instead of hanging out with their friends.
In my view, media apps harm the mental health of young people and negatively affect communication skills. Social media has more drawbacks than advantages.
