Today, many people believe that social media has only a negative impact on children. However, in my opinion, social networks have both positive and negative sides. Social media provides young people with many educational opportunities. However, it can also encourage procrastination.
On the one hand, social media can be very useful for education, as it offers a wide range of resources. For example, if students are assigned independent research, they can use the Internet to find additional information, which improves their learning.
On the other hand, social media can negatively affect young people’s creativity, making them rely on the Internet instead of thinking independently. One clear example of this is a study conducted by British scientists, which found that students spend more time online than necessary. They use social media to complete homework, write essays, and solve math problems. However, if students learn to balance their time on social media, it can be more beneficial than harmful.
In conclusion, I agree that social media has some negative effects on young people’s lives. However, I also believe that the Internet helps students become more knowledgeable in certain areas. Therefore, to minimize the negative effects of social media, children and their parents should find a balance between online activities and education.
