The debate over whether space exploration has proven to be beneficial or wasteful of resources has attracted considerable attention. In this essay, I will examine both sides of the argument and present my personal viewpoint.
Advocates for space exploring, argue that it can be advantageous to explore the options for humans in case of any life-threatening incidents occurring on Earth. For instance, if a nuclear explosion was to occur where humans could no longer reside on Earth, they would have the choice of fleeing to another planet to live in it. Moreover, this investigation into space can ameliorate and expand the knowledge of scientists and researchers of the universe around us.
Proponents of the opposing viewpoint, raise concerns that space exploration is a waste of money and resources which could be better invested in more significant struggles in the world. For instance, many believe that governmental funds can be donated to aid those who struggle with poverty and world hunger to improve their lifestyle. Furthermore, they argue that accommodation in space will be costly for many and strenuous to carry out hence it is impractical and should not advance any further.
In conclusion, both sides present logical arguments. On one hand, people think space exploration is wasteful and that it will be difficult to adapt to that lifestyle. On the other hand, many argue that it can be beneficial in the long-run incase any incidents occur on Earth. In my opinion, the government should partially invest money and resources into exploring space, however they should utilise the majority of their funds for more essential issues in the world.
