It is thought by some people that technological innovation is making us less imaginative. Others believe conversely, saying it helps people become way more inventive.
Both these opinions and my own one will be discussed in this essay.
Those who support the view of the main disadvantage technology brings to people say that it makes our society less imaginative. It can be explained by the emergence of new sources of information spread nowadays over the internet. They are made for searching data on almost everything a person can need. For Instance if a student is not able to bring his own thoughts and ideas for the presentation or any other work for studies, he decides to look for some ideas on social media, which is not always wrong but if it is done often it can affect his creativity. Therefore, using technological advancement in its harmful to creativity way can damage our critical thinking abilities. In addiction, we can get used to it which means it can be addictive and then more damaging.
On the other hand, many people believe that dissemination of technology benefits our minds and makes us more creative. This statement is as common as the previous one, our generation now is not fully able to do works and some tasks without using any source of technology. To explain, since technology automates routine tasks, people can focus more on generating innovative ideas rather than spending hours on manual work. Technology also connects people from different cultures and professions, which helps them share knowledge and work together on creative projects. In my opinion technology can make our society more imaginative as long as it is used thoughtfully. It gives people powerful resources to express their ideas, learn new techniques and collaborate with others.
In conclusion, even if technology can reduce creativity of those who use it passively, I believe that it greatly enhances creativity when people use it as a help foe education.
