Environmental pollution, practicularly air pollution from vehicle emission, is pressing issue worldwide. Some people suggest increasing the fuel price as the most effective solution as they think that fuel price would reduce private car ownership and check uncontrolled industrialisation In this following essay, I will identify adventages and disadventages before using pesonal opinion.
On the one hand, increasing fuel prices could encourage people to reduce their dependence on private cars. Higher fuel cost would make driving more expensive, pushing idividuals to use public transportation, bicycles, or even walk more frequently. As a result, there would be fewer vehicles on the road, leading to reduced carbon emissions and less trafic congestion Additionally, the revenue generated from higher fuel prices could be invested in developing sustainable public transportation systems and renewable energy sources.
On the other hand, this approach has significant disadvantages. Firstly, raising fuel prices would extremely affect lower income individuals who rely on their vehicles for daily commuting and work. Secondly, if fuel is more expensive, it can make life hard for poor people. They need to cars for work or to take their children to school. It is not fair to make life hard for them.
In my opinion, beside some drawbacks, making fuel more expensive can help a little but it is not the best way to sovle all the problems. We need to do many things together to help our evironment.
