Some people believe that libraries should be set up in each town by the government for free of cost, while others argued that people can get e-books and information on web and considering free library as a waste of money. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I agree with having a physical library is useful.
On the one hand, those who support information can be gathered through internet argue that spending money on public libraries is a useless thing. This is because in this contemporary era each and every individual has mobile phones with internet access and the use of AI chatbots has also increased. If they need any reference they can able to get it online without suffering much, and therefore the government can utilize these money on a other welfares of the state, rather than spending on unimportant facilities.
On the other hand, I believe that subsiding for free libraries can be beneficial and it is more convincing. This is largely due to the fact that in rural areas undergraduates are finding difficulties in searching online materials because underdeveloped cities may lack internet access. The students in such areas may not get proper study materials and other valuable books. For instance, in my hometown there will be not faster internet access and most of the people live there was unprivileged citizens. Due to this, they cannot afford an internet access everytime for studies. Additionally, there was a public library in my hometown, most of the university students and school students make use of them. It helps them to enrich their reading habit. The library is free so that every can access it for better skills. Many common people in the village spend most of their evenings in the library, which clearly illustrates government should consider setting up library in each town.
In conclusion, although accessing information from websites and e-books has numerous benefits, I am convinced that physical libraries is a asset for the people in a village, it improves the quality of life. This is because books have the capability to change one’s personality and perspective, making it the more reasonable position overall.
