Nowadays, it is believed that people who are in difficulty such as the homeless and the jobless should be supported by the government. From my standpoint, I completely agree with this view.
There are numerous objections to helping the less-advantaged. One of the reasons is that the national budget is limited. When the authority spends some money to help the poor, it may cause a shortage of money and sometimes there is not enough finance to carry out activities in other areas. As a result, the state’s budget can have a deficit, which becomes a burden for the nation. Moreover, receiving governmental subsidies can make people more dependent. To be specific, a number of needy citizens who have received financial provision more than once do not want to go to work, they just wait for support from the government to live, as a consequence, they never can improve their life.
However, I and a greater number of communities agree with this standpoint. Firstly, caring for underprivileged people can reduce the crime rate in society. This is because if individuals do not have any jobs to remain in their lives, they may start doing some illegal work as a means of sustenance, which increases the number of crimes. For example, one can sell drugs to make money for a living. Secondly, the national economy can be more developed. Thanks to providing conditions for the unemployed to find new jobs, workers will rise and labor productivity can be improved. From that, the country’s economy will grow more and more.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that helping the underprivileged is essential and should be implemented in a range of countries.
