It is argued that the primary advantage of international cooperation is environmental preservation, while others believe that it mainly contributes to world business. This essay will point out both sides of the argument and my viewpoint.
On the one hand, advocates for international collaboration benefiting business highlight that it facilitates global trade and investment. It has the potential to mitigate the dire fallouts of the economic recession through agreements and partnerships. This is further evidenced by the remarkable surge of South Korea, which was financially aided by the US. From rebuilding the nation following World War II and the Korean War, South Korea has become a high-tech industrial powerhouse within half a century. Hence, not only should national economic structures be diversified but also accelerate commerce and international trade.
On the other hand, I contend that global cooperation greatly contributes to the progress of environmental protection. To alleviate the severe effects of climate change, various countries have enacted stringent regulations about the level of emissions. Additionally, there is a variety of international initiatives to address urgent environmental issues. For instance, The Paris Agreement has been activated since 2015 with the long-term goal of substantially reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. Including commitments from all countries, the Agreement provides a pathway for developing countries to assist them in climate mitigation along with preventing global warming. Therefore, by emphasizing the importance of global cooperation in conserving the environment, these actions can prevent further consequences, namely extreme weather conditions, harvest loss, and famine.
In conclusion, international collaboration can support economic growth and lessen the influences of economic crises; however, I believe that it positively affects environmental protection, particularly easing the impact of global warming and immediate actions from global initiatives.
