It is believed that the sole yardstick to measure someone’s success in business is by the amount of money they earn. While I partially agree with this view, I also believe that there are various ways which are considered as the benchmark of a business’s success.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that the amount of money can reflect the level of success of a business. Firstly, money can be regarded as a crucial tool to keep a business running. When operating a plant, the owner has to meet basic conditions such as facilities, operating costs, as well as salaries for employees. Therefore, a good financial situation will help businesses meet these conditions, continue to exist steadily over a long period of time, and achieve success in various fields. Moreover, revenue is likely to be considered as a major motivation stimulating each business to develop rapidly. Each company has its own goals that it wants to achieve in order to develop and curate its status in society. A strong profit will be obvious evidence reflecting that they are successful in carrying out their goals, showcasing partially their success.
On the other hand, I hold the belief that there are plenty of ways to judge a business’s success. Firstly, a convenient environment for working can affect the success of a plant. When working in a comfortable condition, employees tend to have a high morale which is a vital factor helping them to work more effectively. Thereby, the products they create will be better in quantity and quality, which can bring the company prosperity. Furthermore, the stock value may also measure a company’s success. A business with high stock value can prove that this company receives investors’ trust and becomes a top choice among thousands of options for them to invest in. By this way, the company will grow rapidly and maintain a good reputation in society.
In conclusion, while I concur that monetary gains can judge the prosperity of a business owner, I also think that it is not the sole benchmark of a plant’s success.
