Currently, it has been argued that spotting light on skills is more important than academic information at university education. While some drawbacks can be resulted from this aspect, I believe that the positives are significant.
In terms of academic study, it is undoubtedly that faculty puts the corner stone of the field. That is because it provides the students with basic knowledge about their area of education. Unfortunately, some of colleges do not supply their learners by skills needed in the market. For example, when fresh graduated pharmacists applying for a job as community pharmacist, they fail to manage the pharmacy owing to there is a huge gap between what they learned, and the exact vacancy requires.
On the other hand, I suppose that experiences could be the major demand of employment on these days. If graduates do not have these skills, employers would not employ them and as a result suppression of the salaries might occurs. Concerning gaining awareness of these experiences, practicing and exposing to various situations that related to their field would enrich their knowledge. Furthermore, they should start training or internships provided by companies or hospitals. For instance, when I was in the summer holiday, I had an internship in EVA company about getting job as medical representative.
In conclusion, I am the opinion that despite academic study has a primary role in each field, getting familiarity with the market requirements is a winning strategy.
