However, several social customs pose adverse effects on personal well-being that should not be adhered to. These conventions mainly focus on the young’s responsibility which is severely ill-prepared or even lacking due to immaturity and experience deprivation. Child marriage is clear evidence that is prevalent in several communities worldwide. Underage brides confront the arduous duties of pregnancy, childbirth and financial well-being of the family. Despite following social traditions potentially contributing to the preservation of cultural heritages, antiquated and superstitious customs engender vulnerable individuals serious repercussions, threatening personal health.
Considering the aforementioned arguments, I align with those advocating for the freedom of young people to act according to their own will. By encouraging individualism, the young are enabled to explore personal interests, develop skills, and promote creativity, which are challenging to achieve while conforming to societal norms. Additionally, this approach increases the likelihood of finding genuine fulfillment and happiness, leading to a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. Therefore, freedom often results in more adaptive and progressive individuals, capable of contributing to society in diverse and meaningful ways.
