Zoos can provide a safe place where animals are protected from hunters, habitat loss, and lack of food. Many zoos take part in breeding programs that help increase the population of rare animals, and some of them are later returned to the wild. In addition, zoos offer educational value. Visitors, especially children, can learn about animals and environmental problems, which may encourage them to care more about wildlife. This awareness is important because many people would never see wild animals in real life otherwise.
In my opinion, zoos should not be completely closed, but they must be carefully controlled. Modern zoos that focus on animal welfare and provide larger, more natural spaces can be beneficial for both animals and humans. However, zoos that keep animals in poor conditions should be shut down.
