There has been a slight conflict between people for spending money on art and culture by the government. From the view of people who think supporting cultural activities is most likely to be beneficial for the local communities and culture, however, others think it is necessary to invest money on these activities. In my opinion, I prefer to invest money on other aspects such as education.
It is true that all of the citizens should be interested in their culture and participate in activities related to art and culture. That’s why, the government spent much money on this area to improve local culture and invite foreigners to be aware of unique culture in the country. To support art and culture, most of the government’s funding was used for constructing new facilities such as galleries, museums, theaters, and concert halls. As a result, not only local citizens but also more and more foreigners took their attention on art and culture. People gained considerable benefits from this effect for both tourism and foreign exchange.
On the other hand, there are others who think that government should spend much money on other areas such as education rather than art and culture. This is to say, both art and culture are only for entertainment, not for business, education,and youth future. So, government’s funding should be used for supporting education which can make youths succeed and improve their lives. Instead of building art galleries and concert halls, government should construct nursery schools, libraries, and also give scholarships for students who find difficult to join the university. If so, more and more children can go to school although they are not old enough. And there will be no children who drop the school because they do not afford to pay school’s annual salary.
To sum up, supporting art and culture is a good idea for improving local unique culture. However, government’s funding should be used for education, not only for bright future of the children but also for bigger income of the country.
