There is a common belief that goverment is financially responsible for health services and education. However, some argue that it is not the government’s accountability. I believe the main funding for education and healthcare services should be allocated by the government as these services are crucial for both economic growth and progress of every country.
Supporters of the view which refers to that the government is not responsible for education and healthcare services believe that such crucial systems may require a significant amount of funding which may place financial pressure on it. Unlike education and healthcare systems, governments are also responsible for the infrastructures of the cities and law systems which require equal attention and funding at the same time. Furthermore, since the public are the main beneficiers of free education and healthcare services, it might be unfair for the government to fully cover expenses of all these services. For example, despite tax systems, many governments fail to manage all these systems, and this problem can become more severe when the public fully rely on the government for everything.
However, I firmly believe that distributing funds for education and healthcare is a smart investment rather than just a cost for the government. As education is the cornerstone of every country’s development, providing free access to the public may help the government discover new talents who might contribute to the country’s development in the long run. Furthermore, when the government allocates funds for education, this helps it ensure social equality, allowing people from poor backgrounds access to free education and healthcare systems. Besides that, if the government provides its public with advanced and modern healthcare facilities, this ensures healthier citizens. For example, not all parents can afford high tuition fees or school debts, however, by providing underprivileged individuals with free access to education and healthcare facilities, governments may improve the overall quality of people’s lives.
To conclude, some people claim that the government is not fully responsible for funding education and healthcare, as they might place excessive financial pressure on it. However, I firmly believe that without education and healthcare systems, no development would take place in the country, so it is reasonable for the government to assume financial obligations in order to build a strong foundation for the country.
