The question of whether governments should pay for medicine and schools is an important topic today. While some people think the state must cover these basic needs, others believe that citizens should pay for them by themselves.
On the one hand, supporters of free public services believe that health and education are basic rights. First, if the government pays for hospitals and schools, every person gets equal chances regardless of their family money. Second, healthy and educated citizens are very good for the nation’s economy. When people do not worry about big medical bills or university prices, they can work better and learn useful skills, which reduces crime and creates a safer society.
On the other hand, opponents claim that paying for these areas creates a heavy financial burden for the country. To support all hospitals and schools, authorities have to raise taxes for regular working people, which makes daily life very expensive. Furthermore, free services often have lower quality because of long waiting lines in hospitals and crowded classes in schools. If individuals pay for their own needs, they value their learning more and take better care of their body
In conclusion, both sides have good points regarding public spending. Free services require high taxes from citizens and can lower service quality. However, in my opinion, government help in healthcare and education is highly needed for poorer families, making life fairer and better for everyone
