When it comes to the rising business and cultural communication between nations, some people consider it as a positive development, while others hold the opposite opinions that it will result in the loss of national identities. As far as I am concerned, the former view is more reasonable.
The reasons accounting for my perspective are as follows. First of all, it is the communication of different culture that promotes the development of human beings. In the ancient times, business played an irreplaceable role in the international communication. For instance, the Arabic number was spread by Arabic businessmen from India to the whole world. Inevitably, though the number was invented in India, it is called Arabic number, which contract the national identities of India. But it made huge contribution to the progress of math’s, which is a positive development without doubt.
In addition, the history tells the truth that refusing cultural contact to protect national identity is useless. During the Industrial Revolution, Japan chose to learn knowledge from the west , while China isolated from the outer world. When the world is under taking tremendous change, China stuck by itself and stopped the step of development. In the end, Japan became the great empire, while China reduces to losing territory.
In current times, we call for business and cultural communications to develop economy and science. In one word , though losing national identity is unavoidable in the process of international contact , the process is significant and positive in the development of human beings.
