Nowadays, there is a heated debate among people regarding government spending on space exploration programs. Some argue that the government must invest money in these ventures, while others believe that it should allocate its resources to address issues that affect its citizens on Earth.

Supporters of space exploration suggest that these missions to other planets will open new horizons for humanity. They argue that such endeavors can provide numerous benefits in the fields of science, medicine, and agriculture. For instance, space exploration may lead to the discovery of new environmentally friendly fuels that could help mitigate the depletion of Earth’s resources. Similarly, these explorations could establish communication lines with extraterrestrial beings, allowing humanity to learn new and advanced technologies from them.

On the other hand, some people contend that space exploration is a waste of precious resources, and that the government should prioritize addressing the problems facing humans on Earth. Undeniably, many people are suffering from poverty, global warming, unemployment, and a lack of basic healthcare. The lack of government spending in these areas is a contributing factor to these issues. For example, in a third-world country like Pakistan, 29% of the population lives below the poverty line.

Therefore, the state should focus its revenues on economic activities that can create employment opportunities and alleviate rising poverty.

In conclusion, it can be said that both opinions have their own merits and drawbacks. The government must adopt a balanced approach when allocating funds for these programs. A significant portion of its GDP should be spent on improving the quality of life for its citizens, while a smaller amount could be dedicated to research ventures that foster technological advancement.
