Band 7+: Some professionals, such as teachers and doctors, make a greater contribution to society so should be paid more than sport athletes and entertainment stars. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many people assume that professional workers such as doctors, nurses, and teachers contribute more significantly to society than people in sports and entertainment, so they deserve a higher income rate. Personally, I firmly advocate this school of thought.

Granted, some may argue that it is extremely challenging to become a star in sports and entertainment, for these fields necessitate innate abilities and tremendous hard times, so the high salaries for these jobs are indisputable. Admittedly, the contribution of such people to entertainment is remarkable, and these individuals also exert their influence in spreading their national images to the world, which can be seen in the case of the Korean music band BlackPink. Nevertheless, people in medical or educational fields also have to allocate a significant amount of time for training. Take, medical majors students in Vietnam, for example, whose majors require more than 4 years to have their degrees, which may be the same as actors. Furthermore, an elite doctor or teacher can also contribute to the widespread national image. Anecdotal evidence of this is Vietnamese math professor Ngo Bao Chau, who is extremely famous for his profound mathematic knowledge internationally. Therefore, I believe that it is unreasonable for these professional workers to have lesser income.

To add further credence to my assertion, I assume that people working in medical or educational fields often make great contributions to the success of sports and entertainment stars. To explain, athletes may encounter various injuries throughout their careers, so it is necessary to have an elite medical team including doctors, nurses, and so on to take good care of them. Additionally, the role of teachers in training actors or even singers may also be crucial. Specifically, without any acting or singing techniques taught by masters in these fields, young stars in the fields may not thrive.

In conclusion, due to the hard training time, which may be no less than people in sports and entertainment, and their contributions to both nations and the success of individuals within the realm of the other fields, I believe that professional workers deserve higher remunerations.
