Nowadays, bad behavior among students has become a serious concern in many schools. It happens predominantly due to inadequate parental guidance and detrimental peer influence, but solutions exist to mitigate this issue.
I believe two factors are to blame for increasingly prevalent issue of student misconduct in schools. A principal reason is increasingly linked with insufficient parental supervision, as parents who fail to teach their children basic moral values and establish clear boundaries may contribute to the development of disrespectful behavior. As a result, students may not understand the importance of behaving appropriately at school, which can lead to arguing with teachers, disturbing lessons and bullying other children. Another contributing factor is the negative influence of peer pressure, particularly during adolescence, when the desire for social acceptance becomes increasingly strong. Due to this, students may engage in disruptive or even aggressive behavior in attempt to impress their classmates, despite being aware of potential consequences of their actions.
Nevertheless, if straightforward measures are taken, the problem could be solved. The solution should start with greater parental involvement, as parents should devote more time to their children’s upbringing and discuss the consequences of inappropriate behavior with them. For instance, parents could establish clear rules regarding respectful communication and limit privileges when their children behave aggressively towards others. This would help the understand that their actions have negative effects both at home and at school. Another effective measure would be for schools to introduce anti-bullying programs or provide counseling for students who experience peer pressure. For example, teachers could organize classroom activities in which real-life situations are being discussed, such as being encouraged by classmates to bully another student because of his appearance or financial difficulties. This, in tur, would teach them how to refuse such suggestions and comprehend the downside of their actions, making them less likely to misbehave simply to impress others.
In conclusion, the problem of student misconduct in schools derives from a lack of parental guidance and negative peer pressure and will not be effectively addressed unless parents take greater responsibility for their children’s upbringing and schools introduce measures to prevent inappropriate behavior.
