In today’s digital world, a lot of universities tend to an online teaching method rather than traditional classroom teaching or lectures. I think that even though this method has some drawbacks, its benefits outweigh the disadvantages.
On the one hand, there are some disadvantages of online courses. One of them is that sometimes online courses are not available for everyone in every time. This means that people who do not have the stable internet connection are not able to attend these courses properly. For example, people living in rural areas mainly face this problem, so if convential lectures are replaced by online lessons, it will prevent students get high-quality education.
On the other hand, as a result of online teaching, students may not spend most of their time to take part in university’s lectures physically, and make learning prosess much easier. In other words, today students need to spend most of their time and money to commute. Therefore, many students feel exhausted after long commuting, so they are not able to focus more on lessons. Consequently, students can take part in lectures at the touch of a button rather than thinking about going to university. Furthermore, today online courses provide learners with comfortable learning process. In other words, as a result of these changes, students will get learning materials online, so they do not need to waste their money to get physical educational books.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that even though offering university courses through the internet may not be practical and accessible for some students, the benefits that it brings about can outshine its drawbacks.
