Cause And Solution

Band 7+: Some students work while studying. This often results in lacking time for education and constantly feeling under pressure. What do you think are the causes of this? What solutions can you suggest?

The current trend shows a growing number of students who engage in paid work while pursuing their studies. This often leads to a lack of time for academic endeavors and a persistent sense of pressure. This phenomenon can be ascribed to various factors and necessitates effective solutions to alleviate its impact.

One apparent cause of this trend is financial constraints. Many families struggle to afford the high cost of tertiary education. Furthermore, numerous educational institutions impose exorbitant tuition fees, compelling students to seek employment to assist their families in meeting these financial demands. Additionally, some students are compelled to relocate for their studies, which adds to their financial burden as they grapple with expenses such as accommodation, meals, and transportation, alongside their educational fees.

Another contributing factor to students taking on employment is the responsibility they feel towards their families. Many students are compelled to support their households while concurrently pursuing their studies. This not only diminishes the time available for academic pursuits but also leads to a diversion of their focus away from their educational goals, resulting in a sense of being overwhelmed.

To address these challenges, several measures can be taken. Firstly, the government could introduce scholarship programs to alleviate the financial burden on students. This would not only ease their financial strain but also incentivize them to dedicate more time and effort to their studies in order to maintain their scholarships. Additionally, offering educational loans from universities that can be repaid in installments after graduation can ease the immediate financial pressure on students. Furthermore, the government could implement cost-effective e-learning programs that require minimal resources and are accessible to all students.

In conclusion, it is evident that economic instability and financial pressures drive students to seek employment, which in turn undermines their academic performance. However, by implementing initiatives such as scholarships, educational loans, and e-learning programs, students can be better supported in their pursuit of education.
