The Internet can provide online lectures through online lectures for students nowadays, thus giving one more option for them to choose from in some universities to study. From my perspective, despite some drawbacks that this choice can have, I’m more convinced that its advantages far outweigh the negative sides.
On the one hand, choosing online lectures can have some harmful effects on the study results. Firstly, if you do not get to face-to-face classes, you will not be able to ask your professors directly about your additional questions after finishing the lesson because you may have to wait until your professors are free to answer your online texts or emails. It will be a concern of time that you may have to accept. Secondly, when you study online, your learning environment tends to be so comfortable that causes you to be lazy or can contain distracting factors. A clear example of this is in Vietnam, because of the outbreaking of COVID-19, all the students had to study at home via some typical apps such as Zoom or Google Meet, therefore some of them can turn off their cameras and micros and do whatever they wanted, namely lying on beds or eating, which I consider will reduce their concentration and effectiveness of studying.
On the other hand, I believe that online classes can be an appropriate modern approach for all people in the world due to the convenience that they bring about. More and more people now prefer to take online courses or lectures in terms of enhancing their time spending on self-studying and other daily activities. In other words, they do not have to cover a distance to get to universities as they can partake in classes just in their own houses. Therefore they can have more square time to clean their homes, take care of other members in their family in case they must do, and also hone their own soft skills and knowledge such as learning musical instruments orforeign languages. Moreover, students, who may struggle with financial problems, can be allowed to join in these classes thanks to the lower costs and widespread presence of the Internet. As a result, they do not need to move to other areas to study regarding the fact that a significant universities are located in cities in which the cost of houses rental can be excessively expensive.
In conclusion , while online lectures remain some disadvantages, they can be much more suitable for the modern tendency of studying compared to conventional classes due to the convenience and reduction of costs. Therefore, in my view, it could better option for students to choose.
